ABOUT THE BAND

Founded by Larry Maligie in 2012 now in its 3rd incarnation, Esplanade Band is nothing but fun and quality music!! They play hit after hit from the late 70’s and 80’s that you can’t help but dance and sing out loud with! All hit songs you know and love! Inspirations from bands like Journey, Blondie, Pat Benatar, The Police, Bon Jovi, Heart, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Loverboy, Tom Petty, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Huey Lewis… Just to name a few..

Esplanade Band is an 80’s dance party experience from the first note until the last note with non-stop energy the whole night. It’s hard to sit still and not dance and sing when this band is in the house! 

Separated from other bands by their experience, quality of their full sound and layered vocals, the multi-generational Chico group is fronted by Lynnette Ristine.   

Lynnette has been involved in music for most of her life. She has played violin, bass, sang in school and community choirs, as well as performed in local theater. She was most recently a lead vocalist and bassist in two local bands, **13 and Pour Decisions. She loves to rock out on stage, and can’t wait to sing the songs that will have you dancing all night long!  And in this band everyone sings! 

On electric guitar and vocals, lifelong multi-instrumental musician Jonathan Thompson brings his arrangement skills and helps the band in building awesome vocal harmony layers. While Jonathan is the band's guitarist, he is also an accomplished bassist.  His musical influences include  Lincoln Brewster, Dream Theater, Avenged Sevenfold, and many more.

Isaac Oriola  picks up the bottom on bass guitar.   Isaac, hailing from Spain,  has played in all sorts of band from the Spanish metal band OchorizO to the WWCC Jazz combo, including the Chco local bands The Fritz and Walk on Blvd.  He also plays ukulele and hand drums.  When he's on stage, the only thing he loves more than playing with this group of musicians, is to make you dance!

 Keeping the beat going at the back of the stage is Jeff Ochs, veteran of several Northern California bands including original alternative rock groups King Friday & Pep Rally as well as cover/party bands Foxfire, Katzpaw and Rocktopus.  Jeff wants to make sure you are movin' and groovin' to the music we're bringing to the venue!  

Rounding out the full 80’s sound and bringing those spot-on, sweet 80’s keyboard tones and vocals to the band is Larry Maligie.  Another long time Chico musician Larry has played with fun bands like Indeed, The Rubberband, Chico Ska Orchestra, Urban Legend and Swamp Daddy.
